Well, what happens when you can’t use a drill press, or even worse, you don’t have one!
First things first, go get one! Seriously! It will cost you around $75-$150 and make all the differnece.

But in some cases a drill press might be possible (portability, size of material, etc.). and not every hole that’s drilled needs to be completely though the material.
Here’s a simple tip that will help you get drill to the proper length, every time.
Making a depth marker is as easy as using a piece of tape to mark the intended depth of that bit.
